WELCOME TO THE GAUNTLET 2022!

The Gauntlet: Journey is an online fundraising campaign and culminating in-person tournament for the benefit of Zeno

Zeno is a Seattle-area non-profit whose mission is to "Spark joy and inspire a love of math in young children and families through racial equity, family engagement, and play, all centered in the experience of communities of color."

On Sunday, May 22nd, 2022, twelve teams will gather at Mox Boarding House in Bellevue, WA.  to compete in a contest of skill and chance,  to celebrate our 8th year of fundraising!  The whole day is a day of Games and Giving, and will be live streamed for viewers to engage in, as well.

During  the weeks leading up to the tournament, teams of four, from local community groups and games industry businesses, will raise donations for Zeno.  These donations will unlock power-ups to aid them as they compete in a series of table top games to win glory, and victoriously hoist the Gauntlet! This event is sponsored by Gamers Engaged- the non-profit that was developed out of the former corporate giving program of Card Kingdom and Mox Boarding House. For more information on how to make a donation, please visit the team or individual pages to show your support!

The Gauntlet will help Zeno raise funds for their

"Make a Move 4 Math" Spring Campaign!

Make Your Move 4 Math

Zeno is changing the landscape of early math in Washington State through our unique services that use a play-based approach to teaching young children math. We are innovating in program design for early math learning for BIPOC preschoolers, getting them ready for kindergarten and beyond. Math matters! Our Family MathWays program is founded on the following experience and research:

  1. Prevention and preparation strategy: Children who start strong in math, stay strong in math, and outperform their peers in literacy too. [1]
  2. Guided play facilitates high quality learning: Zeno designs and produces game kits in key math FUN-damentals giving preschoolers experience in numeracy, data/measurement, sorting/patterns, geometry and comparisons.
  3. Racial Equity Matters! Zeno works toward equity as our society will thrive when each of us can fully develop our potential. Math skills and abilities are essential to leading a full and robust life. It is this belief that drives our work to increase access and exposure to math in all communities.

Math skills and abilities are essential to leading a full and robust life. It is this belief that drives our work to increase access and exposure to math in all communities.

Math is a life skill. Math is community building. Math is play. With math people like you on our team, we know we can create a more equitable and just world where every child and family are doers and lovers of math.
