The Gauntlet: Cosmos

WELCOME TO THE GAUNTLET 2021! 

The Gauntlet: Cosmos is a fundraising campaign and culminating tournament for the benefit of Young Women Empowered (Y-WE).  Y-WE is a Seattle-area non-profit whose mission is to "cultivate the power of diverse young women to be creative leaders and courageous changemakers through transformative programs within a collaborative community of belonging."

On Sunday, Aug. 15th, 2021, twenty teams of 4 will gather to compete in a contest of skill and chance- right here- to celebrate our 7th year of fundraising.

Teams of four, from local community groups and games industry businesses, will raise donations for Young Women Empowered. These donations will unlock power-ups to aid them as they compete in a series of table top games (strictly online, this year) to win glory, and victoriously hoist the Gauntlet! This event is sponsored by Gamers Engaged - Card Kingdom and Mox Boarding House’s charitable giving program. Call to Action from Y-WE:

This summer, we are raising funds for Y-WE Dream. During the pandemic we realized that being at the heart of the community we were able to respond to the needs of our youth, alums and families. When one of our alums unexpectedly passed, we decided to start funding our youths' dreams in her honor.

We have always believed in removing the barriers for our youth. Now we view this fund as a way to help remove life's barriers. Y-WE Dream will help our youth fix the car they need to get to school, buy books for their training course, and help them get the license to start their own business. The funds are given with no conditions or strings attached, and we are excited to empower these youth and alum as they survive and thrive in our community.

So far we have given out $30,000 to 15 recipients with the support of our sponsors, partners, and donors. We aim to raise $50,000 in funds so that we can continue to distribute resources. We believe that supporting our young people will not only benefit them, but will positively impact the community at large. Thank you for supporting us in raising these funds as well as amplifying the Y-WE Dream campaign!
